From 25 to 27 June 2026, leave everyday life behind and surrender to the rhythm of RetrOpatija! For three days, Opatija transforms into the region’s unmissable hotspot for top-class entertainment – a vibrant hub of retro beats, music and dance, the capital of vintage fashion and style, where the tastes of yesteryear reign.

Swing collides with jazz, pop and rock’n’roll, disco pulsates under the stars, while DJs, bands, dancers and entertainers turn the town into a living stage where the audience becomes an active part of the spectacle.

One moment you’re singing at retro karaoke. The next you’re strolling past shiny vintage cars, stopping at the ‘Flower Children’ pavilion, or posing inside a giant retro TV set. A few steps away – a rockabilly workshop, vinyl records, a skate zone, laughter all around, and an energy that carries you along without any rush.

More than 40 locations across the town are transformed into a living retro backdrop – and every step takes you deeper into the experience. And then comes the moment when it all culminates.
Saturday night. The town pulsates to a single rhythm. Lights come on, the streets turn into dance floors, and the Open Air Theatre becomes the epicentre of the biggest open-air disco party. Music and energy flood the town, lingering long after the final notes fade.

This year, one of the festival’s most exciting highlights is the Dress Up Corner – now bigger, livelier and more inviting than ever. Hosted for the first time in the elegant Gervais Centre, this three-day programme turns fashion into a game, an experience and a moment of transformation.
Imagine a space filled with style, music and energy, where you can become whoever you want to be. A 1950s diva? A disco queen? Or simply – the best version of yourself!
And then comes another twist.
Retro Talks – a brand-new segment providing conversations that inspire, provoke and reveal. About fashion, identity, sustainability and the past shaping the present. About everything we wear and carry within. Unexpected, interesting and completely in the spirit of the times we are celebrating.

This year, RetrOpatija also takes on a sporting flavour with the Opatija Tennis Classic, a retro tennis tournament where mixed doubles in vintage outfits bring back the elegance of the golden days of tennis.
New this year are also vintage car rides organised by the Liburnia Classic Club Opatija – a moving postcard of elegance, while the Croatian Museum of Tourism adds a cultural dimension with a tribute to the composer Ljubo Kuntarić, featuring an exhibition, lecture, and concert of his timeless hits. And as the sun begins to set, the event continues at sea with the vibrant Retro Boat Party.

RetrOpatija is not only about image and sound: the seductive flavours and scents wafting in the air add yet another dimension to the event. Opatija’s hotels, cafés and restaurants create a special retro offer of music, drinks and food, transforming the entire destination into a unique culinary and musical time machine.
